I received a 1002 error (WePay). What does it mean?

Are you trying to contribute to a campaign but seeing that error message?

That error message means that there's a connectivity issue between the campaign and the WePay account attached to the campaign. To continue raising funds through our system, the campaign owner will need to read the information on this Help Page and may need to contact our Support Team and possibly also WePay's Support Team. 

To help resolve the issue and help the campaign owner start being able to accept donations again as soon as possible, please do one of these two things:

  1. Contact the campaign owner and provide them with a link to this page, OR
  2. Submit A Request and provide us with a link to the campaign so we can contact the campaign owner to help them out 

Are you the campaign owner?

The 1002 error message means that there is a connectivity issue between your campaign and the WePay account attached to the campaign. To continue raising funds through our system, you may need to contact our Support Team and possibly also WePay's Support Team. 

If you created your campaign within the past 30 days:

You will need to contact us so we can look at the campaign and try and figure out what's causing the issue. Just click the Ask our support team button at the bottom of this page and include a link to your campaign as well as the WePay email address you're using on the campaign. If you forget to include this information, we'll have to reply back to you and ask you for it, so please include this with your first message.

If you created your campaign more than 30 days ago:

You may not need to contact us.
When you first created your campaign and entered your email address into the "Credit card & bank payment" field, a WePay account was automatically created for you. 

Every time a WePay account is created, the user then has 30 days after the first contribution is made to Verify the WePay account before any funds can be withdrawn.

Inside that 30 days, payments will still be able to come in without interruption, but if you don't Verify your WePay account within the 30 day period, then WePay will need to limit your account so that no more payments can come in until you Verify the account. 

What does this mean?
It means that if you created your campaign more than 30 days ago, you still haven't Verified your WePay account. To resolve the issue, all you need to do is Verify your WePay account and the limitation on your WePay account will automatically be removed, and the 1002 error message on our side will automatically disappear. If you've already Verified your WePay account but you're still seeing the 1002 error message:

That means there's a problem with your WePay account that you need to resolve before you can continue accepting contributions. We don't have access inside WePay's system, so you'll need to contact WePay yourself. WePay has a special team of people over there who work directly with FundRazr-related questions.
