When you create your first campaign, if you've never used WePay before then WePay will automatically create a WePay account for you.
You'll be able to start accepting funds right away, but before you can withdraw those funds, you'll need to complete the setup of the WePay account within 30 days after you've received your first contribution.
Step 1 below should be done right away to make sure you can access the WePay account (and to make sure there aren't any typos in the email address you submitted), but steps 2 & 3 can wait until after you launch the campaign.
As soon as your campaign is ready for you to preview and launch, WePay will send an email to the email address you submitted. You'll need to click the button in that email to confirm your email address.
When you click the Confirm your email button, you'll be asked to do three things:
- Set a password by typing it in the text field
- Agree to WePay's terms by checking the box
- Grant permission to create, manage, and access your WePay account
After you've clicked Grant Access, you'll be directed to this page:
Click the "Verify Now" button, and you'll see a page like the one in this next screenshot:
Note: I'm Canadian, so this screenshot shows you the Canadian version (Province instead of State, postcode instead of zipcode, SIN instead of SSN). If you're American you'll see the U.S. version)
Although Canadian users are asked to provide their SIN number to Verify the account, providing the number is optional.
After you fill in the required fields and click Next, WePay will bring you back here:
Click the "Link Bank" button, and you'll see a page like this one (again, this is the Canadian version. The U.S. version will ask for your routing number instead of transit number, etc.):
Once you've entered your bank info, chosen how often you want WePay to send you your money, and clicked Continue, you're done!

ALSO: Keep in mind that if you don't complete the setup of your WePay account within 30 days of receiving your first contribution, your WePay account will be automatically disabled and any contributions sent to that WePay account may be cancelled and funds sent back to the contributor.
