PayPal won't accept my password when I try to contribute

Our system uses PayPal's Adaptive Payments Chained Payments technology, which does not support two stage (two factor) authentication. 

Unfortunately, this means that we have to wait along with our own customers for PayPal to implement the technology into that part of their own system so we can start providing our customers with the added security of two stage authentication.

  • If your PayPal account has two stage authentication turned on, then to make a contribution through PayPal for a campaign, unfortunately you will need to temporarily disable two stage authentication on your account. Sorry for any inconvenience caused by this.

  • If your PayPal account does not have two stage authentication turned on and you're still having trouble logging in to PayPal to make a contribution, then you'll need to contact PayPal for help recovering your password, since we do not have access inside PayPal's system. You can reach PayPal at 1-888-221-1161.
